Satish Kaushik’s death came as a shock, here’s what he did the day before

Satish Kaushik: Actor-director Satish Kaushik’s sudden death came as a shock to everyone on Thursday morning. He was only 66 and nobody expected as he was travelling to Delhi, meeting friends and partying a day before. What happened all of a sudden?

Family, friends and fans of Satish Kaushik just couldn’t believe that the veteran actor-director was no more with them. He breathed his last early morning on Thursday at the age of 66. According to reports, Satish was in Delhi when he suffered a heart attack. He was travelling in a car at that time. His body is being brought to Mumbai today in the afternoon after the postmortem. The funeral will take place later in the day.

So what happened the day before Satish Kaushik breathed his last?

Celebrated Holi at Javed Akhtar’s party

Satish Kaushik celebrated the festival of colours Holi in Mumbai on March 7 at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi’s Holi bash. He also shared some happy pictures from the bash and captioned it, “Colourful Happy Fun #Holi party at Janki Kutir Juhu by @Javedakhtarjadu@babaazmi @AzmiShabana @tanviazmi.. met the newly wed beautiful couple @alifazal9 @RichaChadha.. wishing Happy Holi to everyone #friendship #festival #Holi2023 #colors (sic).”

In the pictures, Satish Kumar is all smiles as he is smeared in colours. He also posed with Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, lyricist Javed Akhtar and Mahima Chaudhry.

Javed Akhtar took to Twitter to share his grief. He posted, ‘Satish a man full of warmth love and humour was like a brother to me since almost forty years . He was twelve years younger than me . Satish ji , it was not your turn .’

Was in Delhi to celebrate Holi

Satish Kaushik was at the party till afternoon. Soon after he left for Delhi. Since Holi was celebrated in Delhi on March 8, he flew there to celebrate the festival with his family. After the Holi celebrations, Satish felt uneasy and was taken to the Fortis hospital in Gurugram where the doctors tried to save him. According to information, Satish was in going by car to meet his friend where he suffered a heart attack.

Actor, comedian, screenwriter, director and producer

Born on April 13, 1965, in Haryana, Satish Kaushik was an actor, comedian, screenwriter, director and producer.  He did theatre before finding a break in Bollywood. He worked in a number of film including the 1987 superhero film Mr India. His character Calendar in the film became very popular. He also worked in Deewana Mastana (1997) and as Chanu Ahmed in the British film Brick Lane (2007), directed by Sarah Gavron. Satish Kaushik also won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award in 1990 for Ram Lakhan and in 1997 for Saajan Chale Sasural.

Satish Kaushik is survived by his wife Shashi and a daughter, Vanshika Kaushik, who is 11 years old.
