Bollywood is mourning the loss of veteran actor Satish Shah, who passed away on October 25, 2025, in Mumbai. The 74-year-old actor died due to kidney failure. He was known for his quick wit, charm, and incredible sense of humour. His death has left the entertainment industry in deep shock.

Satish Shah was best known for his iconic role as Indravadan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. His performance as the fun-loving father became a household favourite. Fans and colleagues described his passing as an irreplaceable loss.

Reports confirmed that Shah suffered septic shock before his death. He was admired not just for his comic timing but also for his warmth and intelligence. His presence on television and in films brought laughter and comfort to millions.

Satish Shah Death: Bollywood Pays Tribute

Tributes have poured in from across the film industry. Stars including Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Anupam Kher expressed their grief and love for the late actor.

Karan Johar posted a short message on Instagram that read, “Om Shanti (1951–2025)” with folded hands emojis. The simplicity of his post reflected the quiet sadness many felt.

Farah Khan, who directed him in Main Hoon Na, said he was “a joy to know and work with.” She shared that she would miss his humour and the memes he often sent that kept everyone smiling.

Anupam Kher shared an emotional video remembering his close friend. “Kya ho raha hai yeh? 3-4 din mein itne acche acche log chale gaye. Kya ho raha hai yeh,” he said. Anupam added, “He was a very good friend of mine. Shocking, it’s shocking… I was with him in so many films. He used to make me laugh. He had great general knowledge. I used to test him… Koi haq nahi hai aapko aise achanak jaane ka.”

R Madhavan also paid tribute with a heartfelt post featuring a photo with Shah and Mandira Bedi. He wrote, “The heavens will be merrier now. You made everyone laugh even in silence. A void that can never be filled.”

Comedian Johny Lever, who shared a 40-year friendship with Shah, said, “We’ve lost a great artist and my dearest friend of 40 years. Satish bhai, you will truly be missed.” Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar praised Shah’s “diverse roles and outstanding performances” that touched millions of hearts.

Priyanka Chopra And Kareena Kapoor Remember Satish Shah

Priyanka Chopra paid her respects by resharing a post from India Cultural Hub with the message, “(Folded hands emoji) Rest in Peace, Satishji.” Kareena Kapoor also remembered him by posting a still from Sarabhai vs Sarabhai with the caption, “Rest in glory (folded hands and star emojis) Satish Shah (rainbow emoji).”

Hrithik Roshan took to X (formerly Twitter) to write, “Rest in peace, dear Satish Sir. I will never forget the kindness you extended to a newcomer like me on set. Your humour and legacy will continue to inspire. My deepest condolences to the family & friends.”

Satish Shah’s career spanned more than four decades. He appeared in memorable films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Maalamaal, Hero Hiralal, Main Hoon Na, Hum Saath-Saath Hain, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. His role in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai remains one of the most iconic in Indian television history.

He was known for his intelligence, kindness, and effortless humour. His performances made generations of viewers laugh, and his legacy will continue to inspire future artists.

His funeral is expected to take place today, Sunday, in Mumbai.
