SC: Bihar government supports Sushant’s father to oppose transfer of FIR sought by Rhea Chakraborty

After Rhea Chakraborty filed a plea in Supreme Court seeking transfer of FIR lodged against her by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, from Bihar to Mumbai, the Bihar government has come in the favour of the late actor’s family.

As per a report published in NDTV, the Bihar government has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court backing the late actor’s father in the court against the transfer of the FIR in the case.

According to media reports, former Attorney General, Mukul Rohatgi, will be representing the Bihar government defending its probe into Sushant’s death case. The state government would support Sushant’s father in the apex court and would also oppose the transfer of FIR from Bihar to Mumbai asked by Rhea Chakraborty. Sushant’s father has accused Rhea of money laundering and abeting the actor’s suicide.

As per the FIR filed with the Patna Police, Rhea has been booked under sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) and 306 (abetment of suicide).

A copy of the FIR that has gone viral on the social media read that Rhea along with her family controlled and mentally harassed Sushant. It also said that Rhea confiscated his phone and kept a strict watch on him. It also mentioned that Rhea took advantage of Sushant’s professional career for her personal benefits and even threatened him to damage his image in the public eye.

The FIR filed in Patna is the case lodged after Sushant’s death. Earlier, the Mumbai Police had registered an accidental death report (ADR) on June 14, after the actor’s death.

The rumours of Sushant and Rhea’s alleged relationship were making rounds for half and year, however, both the actors dismissed claims saying they’re just good friends. After Sushant’s death, when Rhea was quizzed by the Mumbai Police, she accepted to be in a live-in relationship with the actor.

Sushant was found dead at his Bandra apartment on July 14. The prima facie of the death was assumed to be suicide as the actor was found hanging in his room and the post mortem report revealed the cause of the death to be asphyxia. However, a major section of the country has refused to call it a suicide, demanding a CBI probe into the matter.

Meanwhile, SC on Thursday dismissed the PIL seeking a CBI probe in connection with Sushant’s death.
