Shaakuntalam song Yelelo Yelelo: Watch Samantha Ruth Prabhu emoting pathos in track about pregnancy

Shaakuntalam song Yelelo Yelelo: Telugu actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is all set for the release of her upcoming film Shaakuntalam. The makers released Shakuntalam song Yelelo Yelelo, a lyrical video of the song from the film on Thursday.

The song is an attempt to capture different emotions that a pregnant woman goes through. Samantha plays the character. Also, the entire song feels like a montage sequence and will have grand visuals to offer in the movie.

Pregnant woman’s emotions

Samantha plays the central character Shakuntala, daughter of Menaka and Viswamithra, in Shaakuntalam . The film, produced and directed by Gunasekhar, will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Furthermore, it will hit the screens worldwide on February 17. This project marks Samantha’s maiden collaboration with Gunasekhar.

If the visuals are anything to go by, the song based on pregnancy, is filled with pathos. Anurag Kulkarni has given voice to the song that has music by Mani Sharma.

The film’s trailer was released in January. Samantha turned emotional at the release and said her love for cinema hasn’t changed despite all the struggles that she has faced in life. She said she had to muster up courage to attend the event.

Diagnosed with myositis

Samantha also talked about her rare auto-immune disease called Myositis that she was diagnosed with last November. “No matter how many struggles I face in life, one thing won’t change. That’s how much I love cinema and cinema loves me back. I strongly believe that this love will grow manifold with Shaakuntalam,” she said.

Samantha’s last outing on screen was in a Telugu action-thriller Yashoda. In the film, Samantha played a surrogate mother who would go to any lengthes to protect her child. Furthermore, the film turned out to be a hit at the box-office and has grossed around ₹33 crore in 10 days since its release globally.

On Wednesday, Samantha joined the sets of the Indian adaptation of Prime Video’s upcoming web series, Citadel. She will be seen sharing screen space with actor Varun Dhawan. The show is co-created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. She has also worked with the duo in their Hindi web series The Family Man starring Manoj Bajpayee.

Samantha also has Telugu romantic drama Kushi, co-starring Vijay Deverakonda, in her kitty. She had said on Wednesday that she will resume shooting for the movie soon.
