Shamshera: Shamshera director Karan Malhotra Reacts to Film’s Failure; Pens Heartfelt Note

Shamshera: Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vanni Kapoor starrer ‘Shamshera’ was released on Friday and it has failed to impress the audience. Irrespective of the fact that it had a great star cast and larger-than-life visuals, it failed to make a mark.
Not to forget Shamshera marked Ranbir’s comeback on the big screen after four long years. (The last one was Sanju, which turned out to be a blockbuster Hit!)
But now this period drama has turned out to be a great disappointment for the Audience.
And after this poor response, director Karan Malhotra opened up on the failure in a heart-breaking post.

Karan Malhotra’s Post:

Defending the Film captioning the post as “Shamshera is mine!”, Karan Further defended the film by writing, “My Dearest Shamshera, you are majestic the way you are. It is important for me to express myself on this platform because here is where all the love, the hate, the celebration and the humiliation exists for you (sic).”
I want to unimaginably apologise to you for abandoning you for these past few days as I could not handle the hate and rage. My withdrawal was my weakness and there are no excuses for it. But now I am here, standing beside you hand in hand feeling proud and honoured that you are mine. Will face everything together, the good the bad and the ugly. And a huge shout out to the Shamshera family, the cast and crew of Shamshera. The love, the blessings and the concern that has been showered upon us are the most precious and nobody can take that away from us. #Shamsheraismine #Shamshera (sic).”

About Karan Malhotra

So Karan made his directorial debut with Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra starrer Agneepath in 2012. Which of course turned out to be a big success at the box office.
And it was soon after that, that Karan directed Akshay Kumar and Siddharth Malhotra’s Brother. And that film did not do that well at the box office and received a mixed response.
