Shark Tank India 5: ‘Sirf Mind Se Nahi…’ Snapdeal’s Kunal Banal Explains What He Is Expecting From Pitchers As Show Begins Soon

hark Tank India 5 is all set to level up the game with fresh twists, new faces, and bigger dreams. The popular business reality show returns with more drama, sharper deals, and features that promise to make this season the most interactive yet.

The season will introduce a Junior Pitch Segment, giving teenagers (13–18 years) a chance to pitch their ideas live on the big stage. A Live Audience Voting feature will let viewers influence outcomes in real time through Sony LIV. 

Sharks now have access to an Instant Deal Button to close offers on the spot. Pitch slots have been extended to 10 minutes, giving founders more time to make their case. Fridays will see surprise guest Sharks like Nikhil Kamath and Ritesh Agarwal join the panel, while live Q&A sessions will let fans ask questions mid-episode.

The show premieres on July 20, airing Monday to Friday at 9 PM on Sony Entertainment Television and streaming on Sony LIV. Episodes will also be available free with ads on the app after the TV run.

Kunal Bahl on His Expectations From Shark Tank India 5

In a new promo, Snapdeal co-founder Kunal Bahl opened up about what excites him this season. He said, “Shark Tank ek aisa manch jisne desh ke naujawano ko entrepreneurship ke baare mein aisi sikh di hai, itna inspiration diya hai ki sab sochte hain main kyun nahi founder ban sakta, main kyun nahi successful startup bana sakta. Aur yahi ek urja hai jo Shark Tank ne poore desh mein faila di hai. Aur main expect kar raha hoon ki India mein is saal bahut saare aise founders aayenge jinke saath sirf main mind nahi but heart se bhi connect kar paun.”

(Shark Tank has inspired India’s youth to believe they can become founders and build successful startups. It has sparked a wave of entrepreneurial energy across the country. This year, I hope to meet founders with whom I can connect not just with my mind, but also with my heart.)

Who Is Kunal Bahl? From Snapdeal To Shark Tank

Kunal Bahl joined Shark Tank India in Season 4, which premiered in January 2025. The Wharton graduate co-founded Snapdeal in 2010, making it one of India’s biggest e-commerce platforms. Later, he launched Titan Capital with Rohit Bansal, investing in over 200 startups like Ola, Mamaearth, Razorpay, and Urban Company.

More recently, Bahl backed Unicommerce, a SaaS company that went public in 2024, further cementing his role as a key investor in India’s tech ecosystem. On the show, he’s known for asking sharp questions while giving founders genuine support, balancing data-driven insights with empathy.
