Something similar happened in the latest episode of Shark Tank India when Amit Hotchandani came to present his brand VA Perfume, which produces night agarbatti to make romantic mood with unique smell. He impressed the sharks and left them smiling with his unique product. He said that his company also makes meditation and devotional agarbattis. He asked for 1 crore in the exchange of 10% equity.
Shark Tank India Season 2: Anupam Mittal asked the story behind ‘night agarbatti’
Anupam Mittal said, “Main isme dilchaspi rakhta hoon ki kaise ek din aaya ki aapne kaha ki bhai main agarbatti banaunga jisse room mein aag lag jaaye. Vo type ki aap samajh gaye.” Namita Thapar asked him to not share story behind the product. Pitcher shared that he got the inspiration from Nigeria. He also said that his company is making profit and his company is growing by every month. Aman Gupta asked the pitcher how he knows that the agarbatti can make the people romantic and the pitcher said that he can’t tell the process but the agarbatti is effective.
‘Aap mein deewanapan hai,’ says Anupam Mittal
Namita Thapar stepped out of the deal by saying that she doesn’t have ‘expertise’ in this market. Amit Jain, Peyush Bansal and Aman Gupta stepped out by saying that they did not understand the product and the market. Anupam Mittal said, “Dhandhe ke maamle mein aap tez ho aur aapme ek deewanapan hai. Kayi baar yeh kehte hain ki there’s a fine line between insanity and greatness.”
