Shark Tank India Season 2: Namita Thapar lashes out at Amit Jain for telling women entrepreneurs’ branding ‘bekaar’

Shark Tank India Season 2

The recent Shark Tank India Season 2 episode had considerable animosity between judges Anupam Mittal and Amit Jain. The latter’s remarks to a pitcher did not sit well with Namita Thapar, who advised him not to be ‘harsh’ with them. Hinshra Manadath Habeeb and Yuba Mohammed Romin Aga pitched their haircare brand on Friday’s programme, asking investment Rs 75 lakh for 2.5 percent equity. The two ladies discussed how they run their businesses despite living in two different places, as well as their sales and profit strategy in detail. The judges were not convinced by the business plan.

Shark Tank India Season 2: Amit Jain said that they are doing timepass

Vineeta decided not to purchase their products since they were too pricey. Namita, too, refused to invest in their company. Anupam couldn’t discover someone with a marketing instinct. Amit Jain then warned them they were wasting their time. “Aap log timepass kar rahe hain,” he remarked, adding that their packaging is “bekaar.” Hearing his comments, Namita advised Amit not to be too harsh with the two entrepreneurs. He, however, declined. “I intend to be harsh. Saath mein aao pehle, phir junoon aayega.”

Aman Gupta, on the other hand, connected with the pitchers and even offered them a deal, although a conditional one. He said, “I didn’t start out with any money. I worked consulting for three to four years to fund my business. Alag sheher mein bhi reh sakte ho.” Aman told Hinshra and Yuba that they needed to recruit a CMO and offered them Rs 75 lakh in exchange for 10% stake. The entrepreneurs attempted to bargain with him and reduced their offer to Rs 75 lakh for 7.5% stake. But they had no choice and they accepted Aman’s offer.
