Shocking! Diljit Dosanjh seen without turban in Chamkila teaser; Netizens say 'Dil tutt gya paaji'

On Tuesday (May 30), the teaser of the film ‘Chamkila’ which is going to be released on Netflix is out. Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra will be seen in the lead roles in the film. Seeing the first look of 'Chamkila', the fans are stunned. For the first time in this film, Diljit Dosanjh will be seen without a turban. 

Diljit Dosanjh will be seen without turban in ‘Chamkila’

Diljit Dosanjh can be seen without a turban in the teaser. The actor is seen wearing a wig in the teaser but there is no official confirmation from his side. Diljit Dosanjh will be seen playing Punjab's highest record selling artist Amar Singh Chamkila in the film ‘Chamkila,’ directed by Imtiaz Ali. Parineeti Chopra will be seen in the role of his wife Amarjot Kaur.

The teaser of 'Chamkila' was shared by Netflix on the official Instagram handle. The caption reads, "Jo naam saalon se aapke dil aur dimaag pe chaaya hai woh ab aapke saamne aaya hai Watch the untold story of Punjab's highest record-selling artist, Amar Singh #Chamkila, coming soon only on Netflix!"

Reaction to the teaser

Netizens have objected to the use of Hindi language instead of Punjabi in the film.

One wrote, “A movie on a Punjabi artist should be made in Punjabi, it's looking weird in Hindi. It should be dubbed in Hindi like Kantara but the original language should be Punjabi. We will find out only when the film releases.”

Another wrote, “Just hoping they didn't ruin the Chamkila's song by dubbing in Hindi.”

Fans criticise Diljit Dosanjh look

Diljit Dosanjh's fans have criticised his look a lot. Fans are not able to tolerate the look of the actor without a turban in the film. 

One of the users commented, “This is not good haircut nhi Krna chahida si.”

Another wrote, “Dil tutt gya paaji pagg bina kithe gall bann ni.”

About ‘Chamkila’

Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra starrer 'Chamkila' is based on the life of Punjab's greatest singer Amar Singh Chamkila and his wife Amarjot Kaur who were killed in 1988. The film is directed by Imtiaz Ali. The film will be streamed on the OTT platform Netflix, although its release date is yet to be announced.
