Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par is holding firm at the box office. On Tuesday, which marked its fifth day in theatres, the film added Rs 8.50 crore to its collection. With that, the Sitaare Zameen Par box office collection day 5 total stands at Rs 75.15 crore in India.

Directed by RS Prasanna, the film marks Aamir’s comeback after almost three years. It also skipped OTT platforms, choosing a theatre-only release, and this bold move seems to be working.

The film opened with Rs 10.7 crore on Friday (June 20). It peaked on Sunday with Rs 27.25 crore, its best day so far. Monday saw a drop to Rs 8.50 crore, but Tuesday held steady around the same mark.

With this, Sitaare Zameen Par has already beaten Laal Singh Chaddha’s lifetime India collection of Rs 61.36 crore. Aamir’s return seems to have landed well with viewers.

Sitaare Zameen Par tells the story of a basketball coach who mentors ten differently-abled players. Aamir plays the lead, while Genelia D’Souza stars as his wife. The film also features fresh faces including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, and Simran Mangeshkar.

Kuberaa Box Office Collection Day 5

Unlike Sitaare Zameen Par, Dhanush-led Kuberaa is not holding well at the box office. On Tuesday (Day5), it dropped to Rs 5.50 crore, taking its total to Rs 60.9 crore. That’s a noticeable dip after strong weekend numbers.

The bilingual opened at Rs 14.75 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 16.5 crore on Saturday and Rs 17.35 crore on Sunday. But its collections dropped to Rs 6.8 crore on Monday and fell again the next day.

Though Dhanush earned praise for his performance, the film is struggling with weak weekday numbers. Kuberaa’s Telugu occupancy on Tuesday was just 25.88%. Morning shows were especially low at 17.31%, with a small rise in the evening to 32.21%.

The film follows Deva, a beggar whose life changes after crossing paths with a former CBI officer, a corrupt CEO, and a stranded woman in Mumbai. With a strong cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna, and Jim Sarbh, and simultaneous release in Telugu and Tamil, Kuberaa had the setup for success. But it’s now slowing down at the box office.

As it stands, Aamir’s heartfelt sports drama is staying strong, while Dhanush’s crime saga seems to be losing its pace.
