Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 6: Aamir Khan Starrer Inches Closer to 100 Cr Mark, 26% Higher Than Kuberaa
Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par has crossed Rs 82.4 crore in six days, outperforming Kuberaa by around 26%. The film is now close to beating Aamir’s Ghajini record at the box office.
Aamir Khan’s return to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par is showing solid results at the box office. The film, directed by RS Prasanna, hit theatres on June 20 and has earned Rs 82.4 crore in just six days. This marks a strong comeback for the actor after a three-year break.
Despite a slight drop during weekdays, the sports drama is holding steady. It opened with Rs 10.7 crore on Day 1 and showed a strong jump over the weekend with Rs 20.2 crore on Saturday and Rs 27.25 crore on Sunday.
On Day 6, the film earned Rs 7.25 crore (as per early estimates by sacnilk), pushing its total past the lifetime India collection of Vikram Vedha (Rs 78.9 crore).
Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 6: Aamir’s Film Ahead Of Kuberaa By Huge Margin
What’s grabbing more attention is how Sitaare Zameen Par has outperformed Kuberaa by a huge margin. While Aamir’s film crossed Rs 82 crore, Kuberaa managed only Rs 65.25 crore in six days. That’s around 26% lower, even though Kuberaa had a strong presence in Telugu and Tamil regions.
The Telugu version led with Rs 2.92 crore on Day 6, followed by Tamil with Rs 0.93 crore and Hindi with Rs 0.18 crore. Cities like Hyderabad and Vizag did well, but weekday occupancy fell sharply.

Sitaare Zameen Par seems to be connecting better with audiences across the country. It’s being seen as a spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par (2007), with Aamir playing a basketball coach assigned to work with neurodivergent individuals after a DUI charge. The film blends emotional moments with sports drama, and that mix appears to be working.
Ghajini Record In Sight?
The film’s box office performance has now led to comparisons with Ghajini, Aamir Khan’s 2008 blockbuster. That film made Rs 114 crore at the India box office. With just over Rs 30 crore left to hit that mark, all eyes are on whether Sitaare Zameen Par can surpass it.
Adding to the buzz is the film’s unique release strategy. It won’t be releasing on any OTT platform, making theatres the only place to watch it.
