Son of Sardaar 2 has finally arrived in cinemas, and fans of desi comedy dramas are already sharing their verdict. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film brings Ajay Devgn back in his iconic Punjabi avatar. This time, he’s joined by Mrunal Thakur, adding fresh charm to the chaos. A spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit Son of Sardaar, this comedy-action blend promises laughs, emotions, and a generous dose of drama.

The film also marks the final on-screen appearance of late actor Mukul Dev, giving fans an extra reason to visit the theatres. With its vibrant Punjabi setting, slapstick humour, and high-energy performances, Son of Sardaar 2 aims to be a complete paisa vasool entertainer. But does it truly deliver?

Son Of Sardaar 2 Review: What Netizens Are Saying!

As soon as Son of Sardaar 2 hit theatres, X (formerly Twitter) was flooded with early reviews. Most viewers called it a fun watch with massy appeal, but agreed that logic shouldn’t be part of the experience.

One user shared, “Ajay Devgn’s desi swag, comedy timing and power screen presence are on point.” They continued, “The film blends family drama, action, and emotional moments while keeping the light-hearted Punjabi flavour alive. #MrunalThakur adds charm and delivers a strong performance that balances Ajay’s dominating presence. The chemistry between the leads works well, and the supporting cast adds good laughs.”

But the user also noted, “Some scenes feel slightly stretched, and the story doesn’t bring major surprises, but the movie succeeds in giving entertainment, comedy, and mass masala vibes, just like the first part.”

Another user wrote, “Better than chu**tiya #Saiyaara… We watch movies for our leisure, fun and entertainment... not for some chhapris.”

Meanwhile, a third user added, “A full-on #AjayDevgn show with desi comedy and family drama. #MrunalThakur looks stunning and delivers a solid performance. Some scenes feel stretched, but overall it’s a fun ride that gives the same entertainment as part one.”

About the Film

The story follows Jaswinder “Jassi” Singh Randhawa (Ajay Devgn), who travels to Scotland to win back his estranged wife Dimple (Neeru Bajwa). But things take a turn when Dimple hands him divorce papers. While Jassi is reeling, he crosses paths with Rabia (Mrunal Thakur), a Pakistani dance group leader stranded after her husband, Danish (Chunky Pandey), runs away with a Russian woman.

Rabia’s daughter, Saba (Roshni Walia), wants to marry her Indian boyfriend, Gogi (Sahil Mehta), but Gogi’s father, Raja (Ravi Kishan), stands firmly against love marriages and anything remotely Pakistani. Jassi ends up entangled in this emotional chaos, faking war hero credentials and navigating cross-border drama to help the young lovers.

With its blend of action, romance, family drama, and cultural comedy, Son of Sardaar 2 packs in the same masala magic that made the first part a fan favourite. Mrunal’s quirky touch, Ajay’s comic timing, and a strong supporting cast ensure that the film never takes itself too seriously.

Jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, NR Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja, the film is currently running in theatres. It’s clashing at the box office with Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri.

If you’re looking for deep logic, this may not be your pick. But if laughter, loud desi drama, and Ajay Devgn’s unbeatable swag are your thing, Son of Sardaar 2 might just be your weekend fix.
