Ajay Devgn is ready to make fans laugh again with Son of Sardaar 2. The trailer of his new film has finally dropped, and it brings back his fun Sardar character after 12 years. While Ajay has been busy with serious roles in Drishyam, Raid, and the Golmaal series, no one really expected a sequel to his 2012 hit Son of Sardaar.

What’s In Son Of Sardaar 2 Trailer?

This time, the story moves from Punjab to Scotland. The  2-min and 59-secs  trailer is packed with laugh-out-loud moments. In one scene, Ajay watches an elderly woman doing a pole dance, only for her to collapse in a hilarious moment. It not just shocking but also hilarious when he says, “Bebe marr gayi.”

Later, he is seen taking a dig at ‘terrorist’-filled pakistan for dropping bombs. Throughout the trailer, we see several characters coming together for a wedding that promises lots of laughs and confusion. Ajay’s character fakes his identity as army officer. He channels Sunny Deol’s legendary style from Border, while Ravi Kishan fumbles his way through broken English. This nostalgic nod to the war film will surely make older fans smile.

Mrunal Thakur plays Ajay Devgn’s love interest in this romantic comedy. The film also features the late Mukul Dev in his final role, making his presence in the trailer even more emotional. The cast includes comedy pros like Sanjay Mishra, Vindu Dara Singh, Dolly Ahluwalia, and Neeru Bajwa, adding more flavour to this desi family entertainer.

In the end, Ajay’s character says, “When a Sardar stands up for someone, then they never turn their back on them.”

About The Film And 1st Instalment

Looking back, Son of Sardaar first hit cinemas in 2012 and earned around Rs 100 crore, as per Bollywood Hungama. That film clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan, which was Yash Chopra’s last directorial before his passing. The clash caused quite a stir in Bollywood, with Ajay Devgn filing a complaint with the Competition Commission of India (CCI), claiming that YRF had blocked cinema screens unfairly.

Recently, Kajol spoke about this tough time in an interview with The Lallantop. She said, “Fights are always difficult, especially when they remain unresolved for some time. At that point, when you have a situation like that in front of you, both parties were standing for themselves. As somebody who was connected to both sides, I felt helpless. You have to wait for time to pass so that the feelings subside. So that things can become ok again.”

Son of Sardaar 2 is directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, known for Punjabi hits like Godday Godday Chaa and Kali Jotta. The film is set to release in cinemas on July 25.
