Sonu Sood launches scholarship program for IAS aspirants to mark his mother's death-anniversary

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood recently marked his mother's 13 death-anniversary. The actor took to Instagram to post a throwback picture of his mother.

Sharing the picture, he wrote," 13 years ago on the same day, October 13… when life slipped from my hands. Maa."

In memory of his late mother, Sonu Sood has launched a scholarship program for IAS aspirants. Affiliated with a university, the initiative will sponsor students across India to prepare for Indian Administrative service.

For this project, Sonu has taken inspiration from his late mother prof Saroj Sood, who was dedicated to her profession of teaching. She used to teach students on the non-commercial basis nd on his mother's death anniversary, Sonu has pledged to take her legacy forward.

The scholarship program called Saroj Sood scholarships will support IAS aspirants to fulfill their dreams and conquer their goals. The scholarships will be available to students in various courses including online.

Sonu Sood has been tirelessly working towards students and migrant welfare. Recently, the actor sent smart phones to students in Haryana taking online classes. He also arranged transportation for candidates appearing for JEE/NEET exams.

During the lockdown, the actor sent thousands migrant workers home safely and even airlifted students stranded in abroad.

His selfless work has benefitted many people across the country.

Meanwhile, earlier, on his mother's birth anniversary, Sonu shared priceless throwback pictures from his childhood. ''Happy birthday Maa…just keep guiding me always the way you have been doing all my life. Wish I could give you a tight hug and tell you how much I love you..but I am sure you must be missing us where ever you are. Life will never be the same but be my guiding angel always till I see you again maa. Miss you'', he wrote.
