The trailer for Special Ops 2 was dropped yesterday (June 16), It is packed with action, tension, and brings a dangerous new enemy. Created by Neeraj Pandey, the new season of the hit spy series premieres on JioHotstar on July 11, 2025. With the chilling line “This time, everyone is a target,” the story now dives into a world ruled by cyber warfare.

Kay Kay Menon returns as RAW agent Himmat Singh, leading his team into a high-stakes battle against digital terrorism. Alongside international chases and emotional challenges, the show mixes spy drama with modern-day threats, giving fans something fresh and intense.

Special Ops Focuses On Cyber Terrorism - How’s The Trailer?

The trailer opens with the abduction of a scientist (played by Arif Zakaria), who warns of AI threats just before being kidnapped. What follows is a high-tech crisis that forces Himmat and his squad back into action. 

Sharing the trailer on social media, makers wrote, “This time, everyone is a Target! Cyber-Terrorism vs. Himmat Singh and his squad.”

The scenes show fast-paced action across global locations like Budapest, Georgia, and Turkey. Himmat is seen coordinating operations, while enemy forces stay one step ahead through digital tricks.

The action looks slick and global. Snipers, hand-to-hand fights, encrypted data, and surveillance all raise the tension. The big surprise is Tahir Raj Bhasin as “The Collector” - a menacing new villain whose calm evil presence adds weight to the story. Visually, the show looks like a grand movie.

However, some viewers may find the cyber-terrorism angle too technical. Also, old favourites like Karan Tacker and Saiyami Kher barely appear in the trailer, which could disappoint longtime fans.

Special Ops 2 Plot 

After a successful season 1, the plot of the fresh instalment dives into cyber crimes and the dangers of AI. Himmat Singh isn’t just battling digital enemies, he’s also dealing with emotional struggles, especially with his daughter. 

New Cast And Returns 

Kay Kay Menon returns as the lead, joined by Karan Tacker (Farooq), Saiyami Kher, Meher Vij, Vinay Pathak, and Muzammil Ibrahim. The addition of Prakash Raj brings intrigue (his role is still under wraps). Tahir Raj Bhasin takes on the villain’s part, making his series debut.

The team dynamics seem unchanged, but expect internal tensions and limited screen time for some characters. This season leans more on solo missions and digital risks.
