Stuntman Vivek dies on the sets of ‘Love You Rachu’

Vivek, a 28-year-old stuntman from Tamil Nadu, died tragically in an onset accident in Beddadi, Karnataka, on Monday while filming the Kannada film ‘I Love You Rachu.’

According to reports, Vivek’s wire rope rigging came in contact with a high-tension electric wire on the sets, killing him immediately. While another stuntman was injured and taken to a nearby hospital. The police have called director Shankar S Raj, producer Guru Deshpande, and stunt choreographer Vinod for inquiry.

Vivek was rushed to the Rajarajeshwari Medical College and Hospital in Bengaluru where the doctors declared him dead. The 28-year-old is said to have worked as a stuntman in more than 40 films.

The police alleged that the team of Love You Racchu didn’t take permission to shoot in this location.

“Stunt performer Vivek was performing the stunt for the Kannada film ‘Love you Rachu’ and standing on a crane near an 11-KV electric wire at Joganapalya village in the district. Somehow a metal wire came in contact with the wire and he got electrocuted,” police said.

Speaking to a television channel, lead actor Krishan Ajai Rao who was taking part in today’s shooting said, “The shoot has been going on for the last few days. I don’t know exactly what happened today as I was sitting far away from the shooting spot, I couldn’t view it properly. After I heard a loud sound, I got to know about an unfortunate incident which has left everyone in a state of shock.”
