‘Such A Big Liar’ Alia Bhatt TROLLED For Deliberately Ignoring Jigra And Calling Alpha Her Action Debut At Milan Fashion Week

Alia Bhatt faced online backlash after calling Alpha her first action film, despite her earlier roles in Jigra and Heart of Stone. Fans criticised her for ignoring her past flops.

Alia Bhatt made a striking appearance at Milan Fashion Week in a bold gothic look while representing Gucci as its global brand ambassador. While her style caught the eye of many, her comments about her upcoming film Alpha grabbed even more attention.

Speaking at the event, Alia said, “Wow, it’s pretty close. That’s a big one for me because it’s my first venture into action and I’m really curious to see how the audience connects with that.” Her remark quickly sparked debates online as it reminded fans that she had already taken on action roles in Jigra and Heart of Stone.

Alia Bhatt Trolled For Deliberately Ignoring HoS And Jigra

Netizens were quick to react on platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter). Many criticised her for seemingly ignoring her previous action films, which did not perform well at the box office. One Reddit user shared the viral clip, saying, “So, Alia Bhatt doesn’t consider Jigra and Heart of Stone as action films. Alpha is releasing this December.”

Check out some online user comments that trolled her actions:

“Jokes aside, not accepting your failures (applies to all of us) speaks a lot about the person. Might also indicate that one never learns from it either.”

“She can only make fun of other people’s failures, like laughing at Kareena’s face about MPKDH.”

“Even her husband accepts it. Even though his films were box-office failures, he was good in it, but still he accepted it…”

“She never recognises or comments about her flop movies.”

“If it were Ranbir there, he would’ve made a joke about his earlier action movies tanking instead of restructuring the truth to suit his narrative.”

“Such a big liar, my Goodness!”

“Alpha ke release ke baad usko bhi bhul jayegi.”

“Jab Alpha flop jaegi..she would start a PR stating how Rocky Rani was the BEST FILM of the decade.”

“Why would she ever admit that her last two outings were action films since both flopped at the box office and digitally negative light mein aa jaati Alpha.”

“Convenient narrative is Alia’s whole game.”

“She’s so insecure about her flops that even Ranbir talks about them. Alia learn to be more vocal about failures too.”

Why Did Jigra And Heart Of Stone Flop?

Alia’s past action films had their share of struggles. Jigra (directed by Vasan Bala) cast her as Satya, a determined fixer trying to rescue her brother from a corrupt prison system. Despite her strong performance, the film earned only Rs 56.93 crore against an Rs 80 crore budget.

Experts pointed out several reasons for its underperformance. The marketing campaign failed to create sufficient buzz, the action sequences lacked intensity, and the emotional depth was insufficient to keep audiences fully engaged. The film’s dual storylines diluted the tension, and its overall tone did not meet audience expectations for a gripping thriller.

Similarly, her 2023 Hollywood debut Heart of Stone (starring alongside Gal Gadot) struggled to connect with viewers. Critics described it as boring and uninteresting, citing a generic plot and weak execution. The audience response was tepid, with many questioning Alia’s decision to be part of the project.

Now, all eyes are on her upcoming action film Alpha by Yash Raj Films, which releases on December 25.
