Industrialist and polo enthusiast Sunjay Kapur died suddenly in London on Thursday at age 53. He collapsed during a polo match, leaving both the business world and Bollywood shocked. Known as the head of Sona Comstar and Karisma Kapoor’s ex-husband, his sudden death has sparked grief and mystery.

Witnesses at the match said his last words were, “I’ve swallowed something,” just before collapsing. This led to speculation that he may have swallowed a bee. His company confirmed the cause of death as a heart attack, but the strange moment has raised questions.

According to The Telegraph, Sunjay was playing polo when he suddenly collapsed. Businessman Suhel Seth told ANI, “Sunjay died of a heart attack, apparently after swallowing a bee during a polo match in England.” 

Though not officially confirmed, this claim has caught a lot of attention.

Sunjay was more than a well-known ex in Bollywood. He was a billionaire businessman, close to Britain’s Prince William, and active in international polo. His high-profile lifestyle and the odd detail of his final words have kept the spotlight on the incident.

Legal Troubles In Bringing His Body To India

Sunjay’s father-in-law (Ashok Sachdev) confirmed that his funeral will take place in Delhi. But the process is delayed due to legal formalities. He told NDTV, “The postmortem is currently underway. Once the paperwork is complete, the body will be brought to India for the last rites.”

Sunjay’s personal life had made headlines over the years. He first married designer Nandita Mahtani. He then married actor Karisma Kapoor in 2003, with whom he had two children. After their divorce in 2016, he married model-turned-actor Priya Sachdev in 2017 and had another son.

At the time of his death, Sunjay Kapur’s estimated net worth was $1.2 billion (Rs 10,300 crore), making him one of India’s richest businessmen.
