Sushant Singh Rajput: The Bandra flat has found new renters nearly three years after his death in 2020. Rafique Merchant, a Mumbai real estate broker with a renowned Instagram page, said the flat's owner approached him a few months ago. The NRI owner has found a new tenant, and the unit will shortly be rented. On June 14, 2020, Sushant was discovered dead in the two-story residence.
Merchant further stated that because the unit was vacant, interested tenants began to inquire about it. The apartment will be rented for 5 lakh per month. In addition, the owner will receive a security deposit of 30 lakh, which is equivalent to six months' rent. India Today quoted Rafique as saying, "We have discovered someone" (a tenant). We are nearing the end of our negotiations with the family. People are now at ease about it (Sushant's death) because it has been a long time."
Merchant previously told people were afraid
Merchant previously told Bollywood Hungama that people were afraid to move into the flat. However, more people began to visit the house over time, even if they did not accept to move in. "Nowadays, people are at least visiting the flat because the story of death of Sushant Singh Rajput has fallen flat. Nonetheless, the transaction has not been completed. The owner is equally obstinate and refuses to lower the rent. If he does, it will sell rapidly.
"Because he's selling it at market value, tenants prefer buying another flat of a similar size in the same location that doesn't come with the baggage of controversy that this unit does," Merchant explained. He also mentioned that while there, other people expressed interest in the property, but their family members discouraged them from staying. The owner was supposedly certain that he did not want to rent out the flat to a celebrity and instead wanted to give it to a corporate entity.
