Television actor Shaheer Sheikh, popular for his role in Mahabharata, tied the knot with girlfriend Ruchikaa Kapoor on Friday.
The couple got their marrige registered in a court and have now flown to Jammu & Kashmir to celebrate their wedding with family. The couple opted for a court marriage given the pandemic situaiton in the country but has promised to hold a grand event after everything gets back to normal.
For their marriage, Shaheer has donned a plain white kurta-pajama while Ruchikaa is seen in a simple-yet-elegant off blue salwar kameez.
Ruchikaa, who heads Balaji’s film division, took to Instagram to share the first picture with Shaheer as newlyweds. “Off on an adventure called Forever …#HappilyEverAfter #ForeverPerson #Ikigai #theGirlwithcurls #MadMeNow,” she wrote as she shared the picture wherein the two could be seen sharing candid laughter.
Expressing shock over the news, Ekta Kapoor wrote, “Wat????? When did u get married???” while Mouni Roy said, “Oh my god!!! Congratulations you both. Lots of loveeee.”
Congratulating the newly married, Rajkummar wrote, “Congratulations,” his girlfriend Patralekhaa reacted, “Omg…yayy,” and Sonam Kapoor wrote, ” “Whaaaat! Congratulations.”
The couple had reportedly met on the set of Judf ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’ around two years ago.
Talking about his relationship with Ruchika in an interview, Shaheer had said, While interviewing with BT, he had said, “Ruchikaa is honest when it comes to her feelings. The best part about our relationship is that we are friends first. Being an actor, I have to pretend in front of the camera all the time, but I have found a partner with whom I get to be myself. I’ve always said that I’m a ‘wanderer’ and I’ve finally found the right companion. I am looking forward to my never-ending travels with her.”
On the other hand, Ruchika said, “It is Shaheer’s simplicity and humility that drew me towards him. It’s rare to find someone who keeps it real and believes in the goodness of people. We come from different backgrounds, but instead of focusing on our differences, we chose to celebrate them. We may make little sense to the world, but we make a lot of sense to each other.”
