According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Tere Ishk Mein earned Rs 16.5 crore on day 1. The film’s occupancy rates averaged 25.77% across Hindi theatres, with morning and afternoon shows at 15.29% and 21.67%, while evening and night shows did better at 24.55% and 41.56%. The Tamil version performed decently as well, with an average occupancy of 20.84%.
Despite the strong start, Tere Ishk Mein still lags behind Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, which collected Rs 21 crore on opening day and went on to earn Rs 329 crore. Comparatively, Tere Ishk Mein outperformed Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa starrer Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, which earned Rs 9 crore on day one and finished with Rs 78 crore.
Gustaakh Ishq Box Office Collection Day 1
Gustaakh Ishq (produced by Manish Malhotra) was released on the same day, but struggled at the box office. Starring Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, the 1990s-set romantic drama earned only Rs 0.50 crore on opening day. Despite some positive word of mouth, the film failed to draw audiences, and it remains to be seen if the weekend can improve its numbers.

Tere Ishk Mein tells the story of Shankar Gurukkal, an angry student leader in Delhi, whose life changes when he falls in love with his classmate Mukti Beniwal. Their romance faces heartbreak when Mukti decides to marry someone else, leaving Shankar to deal with his emotional turmoil. The film stars Dhanush, Kriti Sanon, and Prakash Raj, with music by AR Rahman and lyrics by Irshad Kamil. The reported budget is around Rs 85 crore, including promotions.
In contrast, Gustaakh Ishq follows Nawabuddin Saifuddin Rehman Rizvi, or Pappan, who runs a struggling Urdu printing press in Old Delhi. To save the business, he discovers unpublished works by the poet Aziz Beg and falls in love with the poet’s daughter, Mannat. The film features Vijay Varma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Naseeruddin Shah, with a reported budget of Rs 25 crore, including promotions.
