Accusations By Sangeetha Sornaligam Amid Divorce Proceedings
According to court documents cited in reports, Sangeetha has alleged that Vijay was involved in an extramarital affair with a female co-star. She reportedly discovered the relationship in April 2021. Despite Vijay’s promises to end it, the affair allegedly continued, leaving Sangeetha feeling emotionally neglected and publicly humiliated.
The divorce petition reportedly claims that Vijay emotionally withdrew from the marriage, committing what is called “constructive desertion.” Sangeetha also stated that Vijay attended public events and travelled abroad with the actress, who shared photos and videos on social media. This behaviour added to her distress.
Sangeetha is seeking permanent alimony in line with Jana Nayagan actor’s high income and social standing. She also wants to continue living in their Neelankarai home. To protect the family’s privacy, she has requested that court proceedings be held in-camera and that the media be barred from publishing sensitive details.
Despite the online buzz, Thalapathy Vijay has not made any official statement about the divorce or his son’s Instagram activity. The actor, who recently launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), seems focused on his professional and political work.
