Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma has hit its first big hurdle at the box office. The horror-comedy, which started strong earlier this week, saw another fall by Friday.
According to Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 9.55 crore on Day 4. This is the first time since its release that Thamma has dropped to single digits. Despite the dip, it still managed to bring in Rs 65.15 crore nett in India over its first four days.
Thamma Box Office Collection Day 4
Thamma had a strong start with Rs 24 crore on Day 1. On Day 2, the collection slipped to Rs 18.6 crore, a drop of around 22%. The slide continued on Thursday with Rs 13 crore, and on Friday, it went down again to Rs 9.55 crore.

Trade experts say the film’s blend of horror, comedy and romance worked well in big cities. But the drop in smaller centres is something to watch. They believe the weekend and the festive period could help Thamma bounce back a bit.
Controversy Surrounding The Film
While the film battles a box office dip, music composer Sachin Sanghvi has come under fire after being accused of sexual harassment by a 29-year-old woman. Sanghvi, known for his work in Stree 2 and Bhediya, was taken into custody after a complaint was filed against him earlier this week.
According to PTI, the woman claimed she met Sanghvi on Instagram in February 2024. He allegedly offered her a chance to feature in his music video and later invited her to his studio. The complaint says that he proposed marriage and sexually assaulted her several times.
After the FIR was filed, police began an investigation under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Reports say Sanghvi was arrested and later released on bail. The case is still under investigation, and police are reviewing digital evidence linked to the allegations.
With the controversy gaining attention, many are wondering if it will affect Thamma’s box office performance in the coming days.
More About Thamma
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, Thamma adds a new twist of ‘vampires’ in the MHCU. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana as Alok (a journalist) and Rashmika Mandanna as Tadaka (a mythical vampire who breaks ancient rules for love).
The story follows Alok’s near-fatal encounter with a bear and his rescue by Tadaka. Their love story soon awakens Yakshasan, a bloodthirsty vampire played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The cast also includes Paresh Rawal and Geeta Agarwal, with Varun Dhawan making a cameo as Bhediya. Nora Fatehi and Malaika Arora appear in special dance numbers that add a glam touch to the film.
With a budget of Rs 145 crore, including Rs 20 crore for promotions, Thamma is Maddock’s biggest horror-comedy yet. The film’s high VFX costs and star-studded cast make it one of 2025’s most talked-about releases
