Dinesh Vijan’s latest horror-comedy Thamma is finding its rhythm at the box office. After a small midweek drop, the film saw a strong jump over the weekend. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the movie has now crossed the lifetime earnings of Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya. It has turned into another solid addition to Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe.
Thamma Box Office Collection Day 5
As per trade tracker Sacnilk, Thamma showed a good recovery on its fifth day. The film opened with Rs 24 crore on day one, a strong start that reflected audience excitement.
The second day saw a dip to Rs 18.6 crore, down about 22%. The third day dropped further to Rs 13 crore, followed by Rs 10 crore on day four. However, day five brought relief as collections rose again to Rs 13 crore, thanks to weekend viewers.
So far, the film’s total stands at Rs 78.60 crore in India. With this, Thamma has beaten the lifetime collection of Bhediya (Rs 68.99 crore) and also crossed Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (Rs 60.35 crore).
Despite the progress, Thamma still trails behind Maddock’s surprise HIT Munjya, which made more than Rs 100 crore. The film needs around Rs 25-30 crore more to beat it. On Saturday, it recorded a 19.72% occupancy in Hindi, showing good footfall in big cities.

Thamma Plot
Thamma blends horror, humour, and fantasy in a way that fits well into Maddock’s spooky universe. The story follows Alok (Ayushmann Khurrana), a journalist from Delhi who wants to prove his courage. His life changes when he enters a forbidden forest and gets attacked by a bear.
He is saved by Tadaka (Rashmika Mandanna), a mysterious woman from a secret tribe of Betaals (vampire-like beings who no longer drink human blood). Tadaka and Alok fall in love, but their bond creates chaos in her tribe. When Alok’s life is in danger, Tadaka turns him into a Betaal, giving him supernatural powers but taking away his humanity.
Soon, the Betaals face a new threat. Their exiled leader Yakshasan returns, revived by the monster Sarkata from Stree 2. As the two worlds collide, Alok discovers his powers and eventually becomes the new “Thamma” (the leader of the tribe). The movie ends with Alok preparing to face Yakshasan in an epic battle.
