Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna’s Thamma began its journey with strong buzz and big expectations. The film (directed by Aditya Sarpotdar) was expected to enter the Rs 100 crore club by the end of its first week. However, the vampire comedy fell short of the mark as its box office numbers dipped sharply after the weekend.
Thamma Box Office Collection Day 7
According to early estimates, Thamma has collected Rs 95.55 crore in its opening week. The film’s Monday performance was its weakest yet, earning just Rs 4.25 crore. This was a steep fall from Sunday’s Rs 12.60 crore and Saturday’s Rs 13.10 crore. The drop was noticeable, especially after its strong start during the Diwali weekend.
The film opened with Rs 24 crore on day one (right after Diwali) and continued to benefit from the festive mood. On the following days, it earned Rs 18.60 crore on Govardhan Pooja and Rs 13 crore on Bhai Dooj. However, after the weekend rush faded, Thamma struggled to hold momentum.
Despite this drop, the film has still performed better than the earlier instalments in the Maddock Horror-Comedy Universe (MHCU) – Stree (2018) and Bhediya (2022). Yet, it remains behind Munjya (2024), also directed by Sarpotdar, which managed to cross Rs 100 crore without major stars but over a longer six-week run.
Given the massive success of Stree 2 earlier this year and the festive release period, Thamma was expected to go beyond Rs 120 crore in its first week. However, the current numbers suggest a slower-than-expected trend. Industry trackers note that word of mouth has been mixed, with some praising its humour and others finding the storyline inconsistent.

In comparison, Milap Zaveri’s romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat (released around the same time) has collected Rs 44.85 crore so far. Interestingly, its Monday earnings stood at Rs 3.35 crore, which is not too far from Thamma’s Rs 4.25 crore.
Ayushmann Khurrana Starrer Has Another Week Without Any Major Competition
Despite the slowdown, Thamma still has a window of around ten days before facing any major competition at the box office. The next big release, Haq (starring Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam) is set to hit theatres on November 7. This week, the only other new release is Huma Qureshi’s Single Salma, which has minimal buzz.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Thamma stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna as vampires, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. The unique blend of horror and comedy initially pulled in crowds.
While Thamma may have missed the Rs 100 crore milestone in its first week, it remains one of the biggest post-Diwali releases this year. With no immediate threat at the box office, all eyes are now on whether it can recover and finally touch the coveted mark in the coming days.
