Thamma: Rashmika Mandanna And Ayushmann Khurrana Visit Shirdi To Pray For Their Film’s Success, Video Goes Viral

Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Thamma will release on October 21, 2025. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, it is the fifth film in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, following hits like Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya.

Before the release, Rashmika and Ayushmann visited the Shirdi Sai Baba temple in Maharashtra to seek blessings.

A video of their visit has been shared by the temple’s official account. It went viral on social media in no time. Rashmika wore a powder pink suit set with statement jhumka earrings and left her hair open. Ayushmann kept it simple yet stylish in a yellow kurta with white pyjamas. After prayers, the temple trust honoured the actors. Ayushmann said, “I was very happy to come to Shirdi after 17 years.” Rashmika added, “I feel lucky to have the darshan of Sai Baba for the second time.” Later, both flew to New Delhi to promote the film further.

About Thamma: Plot, Cast And More

Thamma follows Alok Goyal (Ayushmann Khurrana), a historian who accidentally awakens an ancient vampire, Yakshasan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). Alok himself turns into a vampire and meets Tadaka (Rashmika Mandanna), a mysterious vampire. Their meeting sparks a forbidden love story set against a supernatural backdrop. The film combines romance, horror, and comedy for a fun and thrilling experience.

The film also features a strong supporting cast. Paresh Rawal plays Ram Bajaj Goyal, while Sathyaraj appears as Elvis Karim Prabhakar. Faisal Malik is a police inspector, and Geeta Aggarwal plays Alok’s mother. Special appearances include Nora Fatehi in the song Dilbar Ki Aankhon Ka and Malaika Arora in Poison Baby. Music is composed by Sachin-Jigar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Filming began in December 2024 in Delhi, Mumbai, and Ooty. Pen Marudhar will distribute the film in India, and Yash Raj Films will handle the international release. The promotional campaign has created a buzz with songs like “Tum Mere Na Huye,” “Dilbar Ki Aankhon Ka,” “Rahein Na Rahein Hum” and “Poison Baby.”
