Rashmika Mandanna’s new romantic drama The Girlfriend has released its official trailer. Fans got the first look online on Saturday (October). The film stars Rashmika alongside Dheekshith Shetty. Written and directed by Rahul Ravindran, the Telugu-language movie will release worldwide on November 7 in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.
After her dark vampire drama Thamma, Rashmika is exploring a very different world. In the trailer, her character Bhooma struggles to understand her feelings for her boyfriend Vikram, played by Dheekshith Shetty. The story asks a simple but deep question: Is Bhooma truly in love, or is she just in love with the idea of her partner?
What’s In The Girlfriend Trailer?
The trailer begins with a relatable moment. Bhooma nervously tells Vikram, “We should take a small break,” and quickly adds that she means a real break, not just a pause. The scene then goes back to when Vikram proposed. He is convinced about Bhooma being his perfect match and says, “There’s an auspicious time the day after tomorrow. Let’s get married.”
However, Bhooma’s uncertainty brings a twist in the story.
The trailer shows both the fun and struggles of love. Bhooma and Vikram share playful moments, cheeky smiles, and teasing lines like “you kissed last night.” But soon, the story turns serious. Arguments, misunderstandings and family clashes show that love can be messy and complicated.
Towards the end, Bhooma questions her relationship and what it means to be a “girlfriend.”

Rahul Ravindran has written and directed the film. It is produced by Dheeraj Mogilineni and Vidya Koppineedi. Hesham Abdul Wahab has composed the music and Krishnan Vasant is the cinematographer. Last year, the teaser created a buzz with Vijay Deverakonda’s voice praising Rashmika’s charm as she entered college with her luggage.
The Girlfriend promises a mix of romance, humour and emotional dilemmas. The trailer hints at a story that is relatable and thought-provoking, showing the ups and downs of modern relationships.
