The box office journey has turned difficult for The Girlfriend and Haq, as new releases De De Pyaar De 2 and Kaantha have taken over. Both films (led by Rashmika Mandanna and Yami Gautam) were already struggling to hold their ground through the weekdays. But the arrival of these new titles has pushed their numbers even lower on the second Friday. At this pace, both films may find it difficult to survive past their second week.
The Girlfriend Box Office Collection Day 8
Rashmika Mandanna’s The Girlfriend started slow with Rs 1.3 crore on its opening Friday. The Telugu version contributed most of the earnings, while the Hindi version performed very weakly. The film showed hope over the weekend with a jump on Saturday, collecting Rs 2.4 crore. Sunday continued the trend with Rs 2.7 crore, which became the film’s best day in its first week.
However, the momentum faded once the weekdays began. Monday dropped sharply to Rs 1.15 crore. The film recovered a little on Tuesday with Rs 1.3 crore, and Wednesday stayed flat at the same figure. Thursday slipped again to Rs 1.15 crore.
By the end of the first week, The Girlfriend earned Rs 11.3 crore across all languages. Less than half a crore came from the Hindi version, showing how limited its reach was outside the Telugu market.
On the second Friday, the film collected around Rs 0.93 crore as per early estimates, taking its total to Rs 12.23 crore. The drop reflects the impact of the new releases, which have dominated the box office and reduced its screen count further.

Haq Box Office Collection Day 8
Yami Gautam’s Haq also faced a rough start despite decent pre-release buzz. The film opened with Rs 1.75 crore on Friday, which was lower than expected. But it gained momentum over the weekend. Saturday almost doubled with Rs 3.35 crore, and Sunday grew further to Rs 3.85 crore, giving the film a respectable three-day total.
The weekdays brought the usual crash. Monday dipped to Rs 1.05 crore, marking a big fall from Sunday. Tuesday saw a small recovery at Rs 1.75 crore, but Wednesday dropped to Rs 1.15 crore. Thursday slipped again to Rs 1.1 crore.
By the end of week one, Haq collected Rs 14 crore. The numbers were better than The Girlfriend, but still not strong enough to put the film in a safe zone.
On its second Friday, the film collected about Rs 0.65 crore (early estimates), taking the total to Rs 14.65 crore. The fall indicates that the film is losing steam quickly as new releases dominate the business.

Are The Girlfriend And Haq HIT Or FLOP?
Both films released on November 7, but neither managed to turn positive reviews into commercial success. Despite strong performances from Rashmika Mandanna and Yami Gautam, the films could not pull in large audiences.
Haq earned more than The Girlfriend in its first week, but it still could not cover its costs. Critics praised Yami for her powerful portrayal of a woman fighting for justice, yet the heavy subject and slow narrative limited its appeal.
The Girlfriend faced similar challenges. Rashmika’s performance was widely appreciated, with some calling it one of her best. However, the film’s Hindi version performed poorly, and word-of-mouth could not carry the film beyond a modest start.
Both films are currently struggling to reach the Rs 15 crore mark in India. With bigger films now taking over the box office, Haq and The Girlfriend are expected to drop further and may soon disappear from cinemas entirely.
