The Great Indian Kapil Show returns for Season 4 despite low ratings. Fans react as Kapil Sharma shares BTS photos from first day of shoot.

The Great Indian Kapil Show is officially returning for Season 4, even though the previous season struggled with ratings on Netflix. The announcement has arrived much sooner than expected, especially since Season 3 wrapped up only two months ago. Kapil Sharma confirmed the new season by sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the first day of shooting, which immediately sparked chatter online.

Kapil Sharma Confirms The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 4 With BTS Photos

Kapil posted the pictures with the caption, “#shoot day 1 #thegreatindiankapilshow #season4 #netflix #gratitude.” In the photos, he was seen smiling on the familiar set, signalling that the team is back to work with a fresh line-up of episodes. The update also led to a playful exchange between Kapil and his Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 co-star Parul Gulati. Parul asked jokingly, “Will we also come to you to promote our movie?” Kapil replied, “Hum show ko hi apke paas lekar aa rahe hain.”

Viewers flooded the comments with excitement and guest requests. Many fans asked when Season 4 will start streaming, while others suggested their favourites for the upcoming episodes.

Read some comments below:

“S4 kab aarha hai.”

“Yo yo Honey Singh paji ko bulyga.”

“Are Ananya, Kartik the guests?”

“Kab aayega first episode?”

“Superstar Khesari Lal Yadav ko bulao, Kapil ji.”

How Did The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3 Perform?

While The Great Indian Kapil Show opened strongly on Netflix with Season 3, the momentum faded quickly. The show debuted in Netflix’s Global Non-English Top 10, with Salman Khan’s episode drawing 1.6 million views and 1.9 million viewing hours. But within three weeks, the viewership for the first three episodes dropped to 1.2 million, and the show soon slipped out of the global top rankings.

This trend is not new for the series. Despite big celebrity guests and loyal fans in India, the format has struggled to hold global attention on streaming. Viewers have pointed to repetitive segments and a structure that feels less engaging on an OTT platform compared to traditional television, where Kapil ruled the weekend slot for years.

Kapil Sharma Gears Up For Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 Release

Alongside the comedy show, Kapil is also gearing up for his next film, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2. The comedy sequel releases on December 12 and marks Kapil’s return to the big screen. Directed by Anukalp Goswami, the film continues the chaotic, family-friendly humour that defined the 2015 hit.

This time, Kapil’s character faces an even more tangled web of relationships and misunderstandings. The cast includes Manjot Singh, Hira Warina, Tridha Choudhury, Parul Gulati and Ayesha Khan. Produced by Abbas-Mustan, Ratan Jain and Ganesh Jain, the film promises “double the confusion, and four times the fun.”
