Now, in a new video shared on his social media, Vivek has addressed the controversy. “This is nothing new for me. Because such things are often said by terrorist organisations, urban naxals and by those who wants to divide the country. What is shocking to me is that narrative supported by those who wish to separate Kashmir from India were voiced at the stage of an event organised by the government on India. And a few who live India used it against the country. Who are these people.”

He added, “Who are these people who always stand against India? This filem was made after interviewing 700 people, whose family and kins were killed, gang-raped and cut in halves. Are those 700 people spreading propaganda and talking vulgar?”

He concluded by saying, “I challenge all intellectuals, urban naxals and even the Israeli filmmaker who made these remarks to prove if any scene, dialogue or event shown in the film is false. If they do it, then I will quit filmmaking.”

Nadav Lapid on The Kashmir Files

Nadav Lapid, at the closing ceremony of IFFI, said, “All of us are disturbed. It felt to us like a propaganda, vulgar movie inappropriate for an artistic competitive section of such a prestigious competition. I feel totally comfortable in sharing these feelings openly on stage, since the spirit of the festival truly accepts critical discussion which is essential for art and life.”
