Thunivu: Ajith Kumar's blockbuster now on OTT platform; Know the date

Thunivu:  Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu has turned out to be a major hit. The film released in theatres on January 11 in a clash with Vijay’s Varis. However, Thunivu managed to draw audience to packed theatres. And now according to latest buzz, Thunivu is set to arrive on OTT. Popular streaming giant Netflix confirmed that the film will stream from February 8.

The film coming to OTT after a month of its theatrical release. Helmed by H Vinoth, Thunivu is a heist-thriller produced by Boney Kapoor. Ajith’s fans are very happy with the news as they get to see it on OTT.

Announcing the news, Netflix shared, “It is time for the explosions to begin because Ajith Kumar is finally here! Thunivu is coming to Netflix on Feb 8th in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi and we cannot stay CHILLA CHILLA! "

The action thriller has Ajith in a never before avataar. It also stars Manju Warrier as the leading female actor. This is Manju’s second Tamil movie after Dhanush’s Asuran. A massive commercial hit, the film opened to packed houses on day one itself. Earlier in an interview,  Boney Kapoor had said that he and his team was happy with the response and this was ‘exactly what they had expected ahead of the film’s release’.

Boney gives credit to Ajith

“In fact, I was concerned about a few things here and there but then, watching it in cinema with the audience, didn’t feel like which means they have accepted the film in totality and thanks to Ajith’s swag, performance, dialogue delivery, timing and of course, other technicians and crew have also complimented the subject," he had said.

Boney and Ajith have collaborated together for three back-to-back films - ‘Nerkonda Parvai’, ‘Valimai’ and ‘Thunivu’. Boney has gone on record to say, “I’m getting all the love and affection in the reflected glory of Ajith and I’m happy to accept it. I’m glad that I got to work with him on three films. It has been a great journey."
