Thunivu Box Office Collection Day 2: Ajith Kumar has a big fan base in the south cinema industry, particularly in Tamil Nadu, and his action heist flick is nothing short of a triumph for his fans. Since its announcement, the movie has generated a lot of buzz. The film is a bank robbery thriller directed by H Vinoth and produced by prominent Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor. The film was released in theatres on Friday to tremendous applause. In fact, the picture got off to an incredible start, with 95%+ occupancy in morning shows across Tamil Nadu.

Given that the film is already competing with another superstar’s feature release, it’s a tremendous opening-day collection. Ajith’s actioner clashed with Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu, which has been making headlines for quite some time. It’s also worth noting that the films were released at a time when Hollywood blockbuster Avatar: The Way of Water was still in theatres.

Ajith Kumar’s film Thunivu, which was released on Pongal or Makar Sankranti, would undoubtedly bring in a larger audience in addition to his ardent fans. The heist actioner in Tamil reached a mark of approx. Rs 15 crores on the second day.

Thunivu is an action-heist film and it marks the collaboration of H Vinoth and Ajith Kumar. A gang travels to rob a bank only to discover that another heist is already in progress, led by an obviously insane person. Manju Warrier, too, is cast in a character that she loves.
