The latest one is tough news for all Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan fans. Yash Raj Films has hit the brakes on Tiger vs Pathaan, the much-awaited face-off between the two superstar spies. According to Peepingmoon, the project is now on hold as producer Aditya Chopra wants to rework the creative direction of YRF’s spy universe.

The reason is creative burnout. Sources revealed, “Aditya believes the spy universe films are veering towards repetition and needs a revitalised approach to storytelling and presentation. The team is reportedly concerned about the franchise feeling too formulaic and losing its impact.

Ranbir Kapoor To Begin Working On Dhoom 4 Before Tiger Vs Pathaan Happens

While one big project stalls, another revs up. Dhoom 4 is now the top priority for YRF. Ranbir Kapoor has landed the lead role in the next chapter of the action-packed franchise. This version is expected to feel fresher and darker than the previous instalments. Sources say the film’s story is being built around Ranbir’s on-screen persona.

Adding to the buzz, War 2 director Ayan Mukerji is likely to direct Dhoom 4. Aditya Chopra, impressed with Ayan’s work, has reportedly brought him on board to give the film a slick, high-octane vibe. The new duo of Ranbir and Ayan promises a different tone for the franchise, moving away from the spy template.

Brahmastra 2 Delayed

While Dhoom 4 is gathering speed, Ranbir’s other major franchise Brahmastra seems to be slowing down. Part 2 and Part 3 of the fantasy epic are now likely to be filmed together in 2027 due to budget constraints. With delays looming, Ayan Mukerji is turning his attention to Dhoom 4 for now.

That means Ranbir has gained another big title in his packed line-up. Dhoom 4 is expected to go on floors by April 2026 and he gets a clear head start. On the other hand, SRK’s Tiger vs Pathaan takes a back seat. Ranbir Kapoor also has multiple projects like Ramayana, Love And War, and Animal Park in his kitty.

For now, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan fans will need to wait for Tiger vs Pathaan. But Ranbir Kapoor's career is speeding up fast.
