TikToker Brandon Boogie B: Brandon “Boogie B” Montrell, a TikTok star, was shot and killed by a stray bullet Friday while Christmas shopping in New Orleans with his grandmother, his heartbroken mother revealed — as she railed against the city’s Democrat leaders.
TikToker Brandon ‘Boogie B’ shot dead
Brandon Montrell, also known as TikTok Star Boogie B, was killed in a gunfight between two men in the parking lot of the Warehouse District grocery store on Wednesday, just two days before Christmas. When the incident occurred, the 43-year-old internet sensation was filming for his family ahead of the holiday season.
The TikTok star was also active on Instagram. Boogie B had 112 thousand Instagram followers and over 2,320 posts on the photo-sharing app. Two days ago, the comedian-influencer posted on Instagram about one Fred Parker, also known as chocolate Sana. In a segment titled New Orleans Hood History, he also educated his followers.
According to a Wall Street Journal analysis of data from the Major Cities Chiefs Association, New Orleans, known for its nightlife and live music scene, had the highest homicide rate of any major US city in the first half of this year.
The city had approximately 41 homicides per 100,000 residents.
Latoya Cantrell, the city’s Democrat mayor, is currently facing a recall effort due to rising crime. Petitioners must collect 53,343 valid signatures by February 22, 2023, in order to place the recall election on the ballot.
