Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (TMMTMTTM) hit theatres on Christmas 2025, but the festive release failed to give the film a significant box office boost. Early ticket sales hinted at a slow start, with the film depending mostly on last-minute bookings. Several theatres saw fewer viewers than anticipated. Looking at previous Christmas releases, the weak opening becomes even clearer, as last year’s flop release (Varun Dhawan’s Baby John) also had a better start than this one.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Box Office Collection Day 1
On its opening day, the Dharma Productions film collected only Rs 7.25 cr. This figure is underwhelming, especially for a holiday release when family audiences usually provide an extra push.
For Kartik Aaryan, these numbers are alarming. His previous theatrical release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, had opened to Rs 35.5 cr during Diwali 2024, despite clashing with Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. Shehzada, his Hindi remake of the Telugu hit Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, had a modest opening of Rs 6 cr and ended its run at Rs 32 cr. Even Satyaprem Ki Katha, considered a hit at release, opened at Rs 8.25 cr and closed with Rs 77 cr.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri reunites Kartik and Ananya after six years, following their last film together, Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019), which had opened at Rs 9.1 cr and went on to collect Rs 84.5 cr. With heavy competition from Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar and Hollywood’s Avatar Fire and Ash, the film faces an uphill battle. The upcoming release of Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis on January 1 will add further pressure.
About This Kartik Aaryan Starrer
Directed by Sameer Vidwans, the film tells the story of Ray (Kartik Aaryan) and Rumi (Ananya Panday). The pair first meet at a bookstore, where Rumi is unimpressed by Ray’s confident personality. Their paths cross again on a flight to Croatia, sparking a journey that blends romance and emotional moments against international backdrops.
The supporting cast features Jackie Shroff as Rumi’s father, Neena Gupta as Ray’s mother, and Tiku Talsania in a key role. The film marks the last appearance of late actor Dharmendra, adding emotional weight to its release.
Reports suggest Kartik Aaryan was paid Rs 50 cr for the project, while Ananya Panday earned around Rs 5 cr. Even before hitting theatres, the makers reportedly recovered nearly Rs 90 cr through digital, satellite, and music rights, mitigating some of the box office risk.
