UP CM Yogi Adityanath weighs in on Besharam Rang controversy; says THIS about Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer

Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has addressed the controversy surrounding Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's song Besharam Rang. Many people criticised the song from their film Pathaan for supposedly offending their religious feelings. In response, the CM stated that a film director should bear in mind scenes that may cause controversy when creating a film.

Pathaan became embroiled in controversy following the release of the song Besharam Rang. Many people criticised it because of Deepika's attire, notably her saffron bikini, and because it portrayed Shah Rukh and Deepika romancing in Spain. This sparked widespread protests around the country, as well as a boycott campaign on social media.

Yogi Adityanath says films should not have controversial scenes

When asked about the incident, CM Yogi said News18, "The film director should also consider that it should not feature scenes that could give rise to controversy or harm popular sensibilities while developing a film. Any artist, writer, or person of accomplishment should be acknowledged. Uttar Pradesh has also established a film strategy, and numerous films are being produced in the state," he added.

Several BJP politicians, including Ram Kadam and Narottam Mishra, were spotted protesting the Pathaan release. In addition, right-wing organisations were spotted issuing a warning against film screenings in cities. Later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned party workers to stop from making 'unnecessary comments' on films.

Pathaan continues to shatter records at the box office

Many morning shows of the film were also cancelled in Indore theatres on the day of its release due to protests by local political organisations. Pathaan, on the other hand, became a huge box office triumph against all odds. Since its January 25 release, it has made 429.9 crore at the domestic box office. According to the makers, Yash Raj Films, the film has so far grossed $832.20 crore globally.
