Roshni Walia (known as Ajabde from Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap) is now stepping into Bollywood with Son of Sardaar 2. Featuring Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles, the film is set for release on 1 August 2025. Interestingly, it’s set to clash with Dhadak 2, making Roshni’s big-screen debut even more talked about.

Ahead of the film’s release, the 23-year-old actress joined the Hauterfly podcast and gave fans a rare peek into her life, especially her open and modern bond with her mother, TV actress Sweety Walia. Sweety raised Roshni and her sister with freedom, values, and honest conversations.

Roshni Walia Says Her Mum Advises - ‘Use Protection’

Roshni surprised many when she revealed how her mother never treated sex education as taboo. She said, “She’d say, 'If you do anything, use protection.' She told my older sister (Noor Walia) even more than me, because I was younger back then. Now that I’m growing up, she tells me too.

She also shared a funny moment and added, “She’d tell me - Tum bahar nahi jaati, bohot ghar pe baithi rehti ho. Thoda bahar jao ab. Sometimes she'll ask - Aaj drink karke nahi aaye? Aaj tum log sober aaye ho? Punjabi households, na.”

Roshni Talks About Growing Up On Sets And In Freedom

Roshni Walia shared how growing up on sets helped her mature early. She said, “Working with adults from such a young age taught me a lot about life. I learnt the industry's politics quite early. It was a very unique experience.”

Despite living an independent life, her mother never pressured her. Roshni added, “She has no idea how much money I have in my bank account.”

She credited her success to her mother’s sacrifices. “All credit for where I am today goes entirely to my mum. She left her hometown and came to Mumbai just to support me and my dreams.”

About Son Of Sardaar 2

Talking about the film, Son of Sardaar 2 picks up years after the events of the original. Ajay Devgn returns as Jassi Singh Randhawa, who heads to Scotland to reconnect with his estranged wife. But his plan turns into chaos involving a mafia brawl, a lively Sikh wedding, and an unexpected hostage situation. Mrunal Thakur, Sanjay Mishra, and Ravi Kishan join the madness, promising a fun ride.

The film is not a direct sequel but a fresh storyline set in vibrant locations like Edinburgh, London, Chandigarh, and Punjab. With a runtime of 147 minutes and 32 seconds, Son of Sardaar 2 has been given a U/A certificate. After its theatrical release, the film will stream exclusively on Netflix.
