Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with the team of The Kerala Story on Wednesday in Lucknow. Adah Sharma, director Sudipto Sen, and producer and creative Vipul Amrutlal Shah were among those present to speak with and mix with the political leader. The Hindi film has previously been deemed tax-free in the state. During the meeting, the filmmakers and Adah discussed the film with the Chief Minister. Vipul requested that the politician watch the film. On May 12, he is expected to attend a special screening of the film with the members of the cabinet at the Lok Bhawan.
West Bengal CM banned the film
The Kerala Story has created a lot of buzz on social media. The social media users are divided into ‘fake story’ and ‘real story’. West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee banned the film in the state but the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the team and stunned the internet.
After the meeting with the Chief Minister, Vipul Shah spoke to ANI and he said, “The Uttar Pradesh government and Yogi ji have taken this action, which has significantly increased our morale and strengthened our thinking. He delivered a very powerful message to the people and the vast number of people is watching this film. So we are grateful to the CM that it happened.”
The Kerala Story Box Office Collection
The Kerala Story surpassed the 50 crore mark on its fifth day of release, earning 11.14 crore at the box office on Tuesday. It has so far grossed 56.86 crore in India and will be premiered abroad on May 12.
