Bollywood actor Siddhant Chaturvedi is gearing up to play the legendary filmmaker V Shantaram in his upcoming biopic. While fans are already excited about his role, another look from the film has now caught attention, which features Tamannaah Bhatia.
On Tuesday, makers shared Tamannaah’s first look from the movie on Instagram. She will be portraying Jayshree (a celebrated actress from Shantaram’s era known for films like Dr Kotnis Ki Amar Kahani and Shakuntala). Jayshree was also V Shantaram’s second wife.

The poster shows Tamannaah in a pink Nauvari saree, radiating a vintage charm. The production housed shared her 1st look and wrote, “Jayashree – The star of an era, the strength behind a legacy, a chapter returning to history.” Siddhant Chaturvedi reacted to it and left a ‘heart emoji” in the comment section.
On Reddit, one fan wrote, “She looks soo elegant here.” Another commented, “Item song mat dalo movie mein please. And please don’t make the actors have a horrible Marathi accent like Chhaava.” A third added, “I want this saree. Aaj ki raat did wonders to her… is she the only one who benefited from Stree 2’s success?”
Tamannaah shared her excitement about the role and said, “It’s a great responsibility to portray a character rooted in one of the most influential eras of our cinema. And I feel immensely honoured to bring to life Jayashree, as she has been part of such legendary projects and the amount of grace she had was surreal.”
The actress added, “Shantaram built a legacy that continues to shape generations. Decoding his universe has allowed me to witness the brilliance of the man behind the legend. Bringing a piece of that legacy to the screen is truly a special feeling, and I am thankful for the makers of V Shantaram to see me as Jayashree.”
About the Biopic
The V Shantaram biopic is a historical drama celebrating the life and work of one of India’s most visionary filmmakers. It traces his journey from the silent film era to becoming an iconic storyteller who shaped Indian cinema for generations.
Presented by Rajkamal Entertainment, Camera Take Films, and Roaring Rivers Production, the film is produced by Rahul Kiran Shantaram, Subhash Kale and Sarita Ashwin Varde, and directed by Abhijeet Shirish Despande.
Apart from this project, Tamannaah is also working on a jungle adventure film with Ajay Devgn and a mythological thriller with Sidharth Malhotra.
