‘Very Dull And Boring’ Is Alia Bhatt Being Overjudged For Her Debut Cannes Look? Netizens Troll Brutally

Alia Bhatt made her grand debut at the Cannes 2025 red carpet, but the internet didn’t hold back. Her couture look sparked a lot of harsh comments, with many saying the actress looked “washed out” and “dull.”

Alia wore a custom Schiaparelli gown from the label’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, styled by Rhea Kapoor. The white off-shoulder dress, made from ecru Chantilly lace, featured organza flowers, a dramatic ruffled train, and delicate embroidery in enamel, mousseline, crepeline and tulle. The look was part of the brand’s ‘Icarus’ line, inspired by the Greek myth of bold risks and artistic leaps.

Her makeup was soft. She skipped heavy accessories and styled her hair back to let the dress speak for itself.

Netizens Heavily Criticise Alpha Actress 

Unfortunately, social media users seemed heavily disappointed by her appearance at Cannes 2025. They did not hold back and mercilessly trolled the actress. At one point, it looked like she was “overjudged” for her debut look.

A user rated her look and gave 0/10. One Instagram user commented, “Looks tired, dull.” Another slammed, “She’s not wearing the dress, the dress is wearing her. She looks absolutely washed out.”

One more said, “To look this bad in a Schiaparelli is a feat.” Some compared her to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra, and even influencer Nancy Tyagi. 

A user wrote, “Priyanka should lend some jewels to Alia.” Another user added, “Nothing about this look is right. It's actually one of her worst red carpet moments.”

Despite the backlash, many were looking forward to Alia’s Cannes appearance. She had skipped the opening ceremony due to India-Pakistan tensions, and only walked the red carpet around the closing event.
