Legendary Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao has passed away at the age of 83. He died in Hyderabad on Sunday after reportedly battling age-related health issues. The news has deeply saddened fans and the film industry.

Known for his powerful voice and memorable roles, Kota leaves behind a legacy of over 500 films across Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi cinema. Social media is flooded with emotional tributes from celebrities and fans.

Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Pays Tribute To Kota Srinivasa Rao

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy shared a heartfelt message on X. He wrote, “Prominent actor… Kota Srinivas Rao garu’s demise has caused profound shock. To the film industry, his absence is an irreplaceable loss. Though Kota garu is no longer with us physically… through the diverse roles he portrayed… he will remain forever in the hearts of Telugu people. Praying to God that his soul finds peace… I express my deepest condolences to his family members.”

Several Tollywood actors also expressed their grief. Chiranjeevi called him a “multifaceted genius” and remembered his strong screen presence. He wrote, “The void he leaves behind will be deeply felt.”

Actor Ravi Teja, who worked with Kota in films like Nee Kosam, Annayya, Mirapakay, and Power, recalled how much the late actor had influenced his career. Vishnu Manchu and Mohan Babu also shared messages remembering his immense contribution to cinema.

Kota Srinivasa Rao’s Film Legacy 

Kota Srinivasa Rao began his journey in cinema with the 1978 Telugu film Pranam Khareedu. Over the years, he played a wide range of roles (from villains to intense character parts), leaving a strong impact in every frame.

He made his Bollywood debut in 2005 with Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar, where he portrayed the character of Silver Mani. His work earned him a massive fanbase and critical appreciation.

Awarded the Padma Shri in 2015, Kota’s passing is being seen as the end of an era in Indian cinema.
