Veteran actress Shashikala Om Prakash Saigal has passed away on Sunday. She was 88. The family of the actress is yet to issue an statement regarding her demise. She breathed her last at her Mumbai residence.
Shashikala began working at an early age to support her parents. In her career spanning over five decades, the actress has worked in over 100 films. Some of her most memorable performances have been in films like Khubsoorat, Anupama, Ayi Milan ki Bela, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Teen Batti Char Raasta to name a few. She is also known for her work in TV shows like Sonpari and Jeena Isi ka Naam hai.
For her contribution to cinema, the veteran actress was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri award for her contribution to cinema. She was a disciple of Mother Teresa, reported Times of India.
The details regarding her last rites are yet to be revealed.
