Veteran music director Raamlaxman, of ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ dies

The famous Bollywood music composer Raam Laxman passed away. He was 78 years old and was ill for a long time. Singer Lata Mangeshkar has confirmed the news of Raam Laxman’s demise on social media.

In his career, Ram Laxman gave music for superhit films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’.

Expressing condolences on Twitter, Lata Mangekar wrote, ‘I just came to know that the very talented and popular musician Raam Laxman ji died. I am very sad to hear this. He was a very nice person. I sang many of his songs which became very popular. I pay my humble tribute to him. ‘

Raam Laxman’s real name was Vijay Patil. His partner, Surendra name was Raam, Surendra died in 1976. Even after this, Vijay Patil kept giving music in the name of Raam Laxman in memory of his partner.

Raam Laxman had composed music in about 150 films including Marathi and Bhojpuri apart from Hindi. Marathi filmmaker and actor Dada Kondke signed him as a composer for his film ‘Pandu Havildar’. After this he gave many hit songs in Sooraj Barjatya’s films. The songs of ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ (1989) were super hit. After this, he also gave music in ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (1994)’ and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999)’. People still like all the songs of this film.
