VVAN: Sidharth Malhotra And Tamannaah Bhatia’s Mythological Thriller Gets Release Date, Check

VVAN: Force of the Forest, the much-awaited mythological thriller starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, now has a new release date. The makers have locked in May 15, 2026 for the film’s theatrical debut. The movie was earlier set for a Chhath 2025 release.

Sidharth Malhotra announced the latest update on social media. He wrote, “The forest has whispered. The force will be unleashed on 15th May, 2026! Get ready for the big screen adventure! #VVAN - Force of the Forest releasing on 15th May, 2026.”

Along with the post, the team revealed a new poster. It showed fiery red eyes glowing through a dark forest, with an ancient temple hidden in the background. The visuals hinted at a spooky, mythical setting. Earlier teasers showed Tamannaah Bhatia walking through a foggy forest holding a diya, while Sidharth was seen carrying a torch in a similar scene. It sparked criticism as many trolled makers for sharing ‘lazy’ AI-generated work as announcement poster.

The film blends mythology and horror in a unique way possible. Makers describe it as a mystical thriller inspired by Indian folklore. It will explore forgotten legends, supernatural forces, and spiritual themes.

VVAN taps into the growing trend of mythological horror in Indian cinema. The genre has recently gained popularity for combining ancient stories with modern visuals.

While Tamannaah’s role hasn’t been officially revealed, sources say she plays a key part in the storyline. The film will explore eerie tales set deep in the forest, filled with ancient rituals and mythical creatures.

The release  comes just two weeks after Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, where Robert Downey Jr returns as Doctor Doom. That film is expected to become a massive hit, like Avengers: Endgame, and might cross the billion-dollar mark at the box office.

Despite the competition, VVAN is expected to do well with its unique concept, powerful cast, and strong visuals. The new release date also gives the team more time to fine-tune the post-production.

The delay may also work out well for Sidharth, who is preparing to welcome his first child with wife Kiara Advani. The actor is likely to spend quality time with his family before the film’s release.
