The WAVES Summit 2025 has taken the entertainment and cultural diplomacy world by storm, with global icon Priyanka Chopra hailing the event as a “historic step for the nation.” The summit, inaugurated under the patronage of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, brought together influential voices from the creative, cinematic, and tech industries across the globe.

PM Modi talked extensively about the content made in India and the capability of the content creators to lead the country to an economical boom. PM Modi also promised further initiatives like WAVES awards in the near future.

Priyanka Chopra remarked, “WAVES 2025 is not just about art and culture — it’s about India leading a global narrative. This is a visionary leap, and I applaud PM Modi for placing Indian creativity at the center of the global conversation.”

The four-day summit, themed “Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries,” has attracted over 10,000 delegates from more than 90 countries, including 1,000 creators, 300+ companies, and 350+ startups. It aims to position India as a global hub for media, entertainment, and digital innovation, with projections to unlock a $50 billion market by 2029.

WAVES: A Global Cultural Confluence

The summit witnessed participation from top international filmmakers, artists, OTT leaders, and tech innovators. Designed to position India as a global hub for storytelling and entertainment, WAVES 2025 showcased India’s soft power on the international stage.

Key highlights included

panels on AI in film, cross-cultural collaborations, and the unveiling of a government-backed initiative to promote Indian cinema worldwide.

Officials described the summit as a strategic effort to boost India’s cultural exports, enhance content diplomacy, and drive international partnerships. With Bollywood stars, content creators, and thought leaders under one roof, the event marks a new high for the Indian entertainment industry.

Many international delegates praised Prime Minister Modi’s vision of blending technology with tradition. Representatives from Netflix, Amazon Studios, and Cannes Film Festival noted India’s evolving content landscape and expressed keen interest in future collaborations

Priyanka Chopra, who also moderated a session on “Global Narratives and Indian Roots,” emphasized the importance of telling authentic Indian stories to global audiences. She said, “This summit is a sign that India is not just catching up — we’re setting the pace.”

As the summit concluded with a grand closing ceremony celebrating Indian heritage through music and dance, a renewed sense of cultural confidence was palpable.
