Actress Bhumi Pednekar has expressed anger after reports of a six-year-old girl allegedly gang-raped by three boys( aged 10, 13 and 14) in northeast Delhi’s Bhajanpura. The incident (which took place on January 18) has shocked the nation and sparked widespread outrage on social media. Bhumi called the accused MONSTERS and questioned the system for failing to prevent such crimes.

Here’s what Bhumi Pednekar Said

On Wednesday, Bhumi Pednekar took to Instagram Stories to repost an article on the case and share her anger. She wrote, “What is going on… We clearly are failing cause we haven’t, till now been unable to instil fear into these monsters who think they can get away with sexual violence.”

The Bhakshak actress highlighted how minor issues like street dogs are often sensationalised, while the safety of children remains overlooked. Bhumi said, “Breaks my heart to see underage boys go through with something so heinous. Imagine the environments they are growing up in. We are punishing the voiceless in our country, and have sensationalised dogs being a threat.”

She said, “What about the fact that a 6-year-old isn’t safe on our streets and actually no child is, cause in this case the perpetrators are also the victims. Wake up, India.”

All About Bhajanpura Gang Rape Case

Police said that two of the accused boys have been caught, while the third boy and his family are reportedly missing. Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Ashish Mishra confirmed the incident and said that legal action has been initiated, without giving further details.

The girl’s mother told the media that the assault happened around 7 pm when the child returned home bleeding. At first, the girl said she had fallen. She had been dropped at the entrance of her lane by her father after he bought her candy. The mother explained, “The boys caught her there and lured her by offering to feed her chowmein. They then took her to a nearby empty two-story building where the assault occurred. The girl told us that her hands were tied and her mouth gagged.”

The case has now been transferred to Bhajanpura Police Station, and authorities are investigating further.
