Why Did Bigg Boss 16’s Ankit Gupta Adopt Vegetarian Lifestyle? Actor Reveals Serious Health Issues: ‘You Feel Breathless, BP Shoots Up…’
Ankit Gupta revealed he turned vegetarian after a health scare that left him breathless and hospitalised. He shared how it changed his approach to food and fitness.
Bigg Boss 16 fame Ankit Gupta has opened up about a major lifestyle change that left even Farah Khan surprised. Known for his roles in Udaariyaan and Junooniyatt, the TV heartthrob revealed that a serious health issue pushed him to quit non-veg food completely.
In a recent vlog with Farah Khan, who dropped by to cook her famous tawa chicken, Ankit shocked her with an unexpected revelation. He said, “I’ve turned vegetarian, but will eat chicken since you’re making it.” Ankit then explained the reason behind his switch.
Why Ankit Gupta Chose To Go Vegetarian
Ankit clarified that his decision wasn’t based on religion or trends. It all started with a medical emergency. He shared, “I didn’t turn vegetarian for any religious reasons. I had a gastric and panic attack for which I was hospitalised. You feel breathlessness, BP shoots up and you just feel you cannot breathe.”
Since then, the actor has become more conscious of what he eats and drinks. He added, “I am on a programme and show what I am eating throughout the day. I also show what I am drinking.” It was a wake-up call that made him rethink his diet and focus on overall well-being.
On How Bigg Boss Happened - It Wasn’t His Idea
Apart from discussing his health, Ankit also spilled some details about his Bigg Boss 16 journey. Surprisingly, he revealed that it wasn’t his idea to join the show.
He said, “I didn’t choose to be on Bigg Boss. I was sent to the show.” At the time, he had just wrapped up Udaariyaan, and the makers promised him a role in Junooniyatt, which was still a few months away.
Ankit explained that he was given a few options, but none seemed to fit. He explained, “Khatron Ke Khiladi had already started, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa was on but not meant for me, and the last option was Bigg Boss.” After weeks of back-and-forth discussions, he finally agreed.
Talking about his work front, he was last seen in Star Plus show Maati Se Bandhi Dor. No details about his latest project has been revealed as of now.
