Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana has once again grabbed attention after a fresh shooting update surfaced online. The actor has reportedly returned to the sets of the mythological epic, and the news has quickly gone viral among fans.

Interestingly, the update has also revived conversations about another much-discussed project, Brahmastra Part Two – Dev. The sequel to Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji, has been on hold for a long time. Now, some fans believe the success of Ramayana could help bring the Astraverse project back on track.

Reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor has started filming important portions of Ramayana Part 2 in Mumbai. The actor will reportedly spend the next few months completing key scenes for the big-budget film.

Earlier, Ranbir was supposed to start shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s Love And War in March. However, the project was delayed due to the filmmaker’s health issues. The film is now expected to begin production around May 2026. Because of this delay, Ranbir has shifted his focus back to Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.

Ramayana Schedule Update: Ranbir Kapoor Shoots Major Scenes

According to reports, Ranbir Kapoor plans to complete a major portion of the shoot between March and May. A source quoted by Pinkvilla said, “RK aims to complete a significant portion of his shoot for the mythological epic between March and May. At the moment, Ranbir is sporting a clean-shaven look as part of his transformation into Lord Ram. The look aligns with the visual continuity planned for the film, which is expected to expand the scale and storytelling established in the first part.”

Ranbir plays Lord Ram in the epic, and his look has already created curiosity among fans. Soon, Sunny Deol, who plays Lord Hanuman in the film, will also join the schedule. The actor is expected to start shooting around March 20.

The upcoming schedule will feature several important scenes between the two characters. The source added, “Ranbir has already begun filming his portions in Mumbai and Sunny Deol is expected to join the shoot around March 20. This schedule is particularly important because it includes multiple combination scenes between Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman, which are pivotal to the narrative.”

Can Ramayana Success Revive Brahmastra 2?

The shooting update has also sparked fresh debate online about the future of Brahmastra Part Two – Dev. Many fans believe that if Ramayana becomes a huge box-office success, it could help revive the long-delayed sequel. However, the conversation quickly shifted towards the possibility of Ranveer Singh playing the antagonist Dev opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

“Is it safe to assume now that we’re not gonna get Brahmastra Part-2? I was so excited to see DP in it.”

“Change the director. Also, Ranveer vs Ranbir in Brahmastra 2 would be more fun.”

“Yeah, but RK must be shit scared that RS will eat him in a negative role of lesser span. But I so wish it to happen. The only way Karan can revive Dharma’s lost money and charm.”

“It will indeed happen because Ayan doesn’t have any project in hand other this .He has one project apart from this is by RK studios which is still a rumour; nothing is finalised.”

“No normal production house like Dharma or Jio is gonna produce it. Maybe if Namit becomes a full fledged producer in bollywood, he will make heavy VFX films under his production house. So that may lead to greenlighting Brahmastra 2.”

About Ramayana and the Astraverse

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is being planned as a two-part mythological epic. The first film is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release, while the second part is expected to arrive in Diwali 2027.

The film also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The music of the film has already created buzz because it brings together two legendary composers Hans Zimmer and A.R Rahman.

Meanwhile, Brahmastra: Part Two – Dev remains one of Bollywood’s most awaited yet uncertain sequels. Ranbir Kapoor had earlier assured fans that the film was definitely happening. The sequel is expected to explore the powerful character Dev and his connection to Shiva. However, there has been no official update on the project for a long time. For now, all eyes remain on Ramayana. If the film becomes a massive hit, it could bring fresh momentum to the Astraverse once again.
