Women’s Day 2023: Bollywood actresses have, time and again, served as an inspiration to many. Proving that they are more than just a pretty face, B-town divas have been instrumental in changing society’s outlook towards women. Today, we are highlighting several actresses who went out of their ways and adopted children without marriage.

Sushmita Sen

Sushmita Sen has adopted two daughters — Renee and Alisha. She adopted her daughter Renee when she was just 25. The actor had to go through a long battle, but she did not let her unwavering confidence in herself to die down. In 2010, at the behest of her career, Sushmita adopted her second daughter Alisah.

Sushmita has not been married and continues to raise her daughters on her own. She often takes to her social media accounts to share pictures with her daughters. While her elder daughter Renee has grown up to be an adult now, Alisah is currently in her teens. If reports are to be believed, Renee will soon be making her Bollywood debut.

Raveena Tandon 

Raveena Tandon adopted two girls — Chhaya and Pooja — at a mere age of 21. Adopting two teenage girls when she herself had just turned an adult was indeed a bold and brave decision. The actor continues to be a doting mother to her adopted kids along with her two biological children Rasha and Ranbir. 

Raveena Tandon is married to film producer Anil Thadani.

Preity Zinta

Preity Zinta, on the occasion of her 34th birthday, adopted 34 girls of the Mother Miracle orphanage in Rishikesh. Since then, she has been taking care of them while providing for their education for their better future. Preity married Gene Goodenough in 2016. The couple had welcomed twins via surrogacy in November 2021.
