It’s World Music Day 2025 (June 21), and we take this opportunity to remind you that Bollywood is ready with a remarkable lineup of upcoming musical love stories. These films mix emotional stories with feel-good music that’s sure to touch hearts and rule the music charts.
From ensemble dramas to passionate debuts, this wave of musical romances highlights how music continues to shape Bollywood. Here are five titles to keep an eye on as the year unfolds.
Metro In Dino is directed by Anurag Basu and is part of his trilogy after Life in a Metro and Ludo. It tells the stories of four couples of different ages, all dealing with love in a fast-paced urban world.
The film stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan, along with a star cast including Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Ali Fazal. Music by Pritam features four released songs - Zamaana Lage, Dil Ka Kya, Mann Ye Mera, and Aur Mohabbat Kitni Karoon. The film releases on July 4, 2025.
Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by YRF, Saiyaara stars newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. The teaser shows a powerful mix of heartbreak and healing, and the title track has already made waves.
Songs like Barbaad are part of a romantic album by Mithoon, Vishal Mishra, and Sachet-Parampara. With a strong emotional core and a classic Suri musical touch, the film hits theatres on July 18, 2025.
Kartik Aaryan is joining hands with Anurag Basu for a new love story. Paired with debut actress Sreeleela, Kartik is reportedly preparing intensely for his role. While the title and plot are not revealed yet, it’s expected to be a soulful musical drama, releasing later in 2025. It stars Sreeleela as the female lead.
The title is said to be inspired by the iconic song from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. This film stars Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor in a deeply emotional role. The story is likely centred on longing and unspoken love, supported by a rich musical background.
Deewaniyat, directed by Milap Zaveri, features Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa. Though little is known about the plot, it’s described as an intense love story with a modern twist. Expect a strong musical vibe and raw emotions.
These upcoming musical love stories prove Bollywood is using music to tell deeper love stories, not just for fun. From Metro In Dino’s city vibes to the heartbreak in Saiyaara, these films promise emotional, memorable moments - just right for World Music Day.
